Last week we shared with you the table setting and cocktail hour portion of our most recent Dinner Series event, and today I’ve got the menu to share! Rene from Hi-Rise has worked with us on a Dinner Series before, and has a knack for throwing together a menu based around what’s fresh and in-season mere days before we sit down to eat his food. It’s a fun way to eat, and it certainly makes for the ultimate in flavor and presentation.
Salad with Watermelon, Cherry Tomatoes, Purslane, Corn, Roasted Beets, Chopped Almonds, and a Balsamic Drizzle
For the first course, we enjoyed a stunning and seasonal salad with an abundance of fresh, local ingredients. It has a wonderful mix of contrasting flavors and textures, and looked quite beautiful to boot!
Pasta with Fresh Tomatoes and Garlic
For the second course, we enjoyed an super simple but oh so delicious dish of pasta with fresh tomatoes and garlic. It was like summertime all wrapped up in a bowl, which we served around the table family style.
Roasted potatoes for the main course
And the star of the show: leg of lamb!
Main: Grilled and seasoned leg of lamb, roasted fingerling potatoes, grilled onions, string beans, chimichurri sauce
For the main course, we again enjoyed leg of lamb, stuffed with whole cloves of garlic and generously covered in a delicious rub. It was perfectly cooked, so juicy and tender, and wildly flavorful. Served alongside were potatoes, onions, string beans and a really delicious chimichurri sauce.
Dessert: Strawberry shortcakes, fresh figs and whipped cream
For dessert, we indulged in these beautiful and scrumptious strawberry shortcakes. With lightly sweetened and ripe red berries, buttery biscuits, cool and luscious whipped cream, and a ripe fresh fig nestled in there – it was a pretty fantastic way to round out the meal!
