Bacon! In a cup!

Last but not least is the king of breakfast , the mighty bacon. I like it crispy, I like it floppy, I like it in sandwiches, on a heaping plate all by itself. I even like it in my chocolate. Try it before you diss it. To add a bit of whimsy to this breakfast favorite, Melissa served the crisp bacon in the Revol Recycled Pack of White Cappuccino cups. These porcelain cups look like a slightly crumpled plastic cup. So playful. Who could resist bacon served in a cup! Would could resist bacon served in a cup that looks disposable but not! It totally plays with your expectations and to your delight. Check out the smile on Oliver with his cup of bacon. His cups running over.

Melon Medley Fruit Salad in Watermelon Bowl

We’ve all had some variation of the fruit salad at some point. The beauty of it is that you can pretty much throw in whatever fruit you like. The trick to making it tasty is to balance the textures, sweetnesses, and colors. Sticking with seasonal fruits also makes gustatory sense since they’ll be the tastiest and freshest. For Dinner 12: Sunday Brunch, Laura thought of all that and then some, in her usual fabulous form, by serving hers in the watermelon rind from which she’d balled out all the flesh.

It not only looks great, but you can chuck the rind afterwards with one less dish to clean.

Spinach Frittata

You will be amazed by this frittata. Savory, eggy, with a touch of tang from the feta cheese, everyone, myself included, was totally bowled over by this dish served during Dinner 12: Sunday Brunch. Laura served it on the large Pillivuyt round serving tray and garnished it with freshly sliced tomatoes.

Crock Pot French Toast

If you get up early enough, you can start the cooking before going to bed. But if you’re like me and think brunch means lunch time, then you’ll have to get up early, put the dish together, turn on the crock pot and then go straight back to bed until you’re good and ready to get up for real. Laura woke up at four in the morning to make sure her french toast would be ready by noon for Dinner 12: Sunday Brunch. And it was worth it.
